Nature’s Coming, Are You Ready?
The Springfield, Missouri area is expected to get between six and twelve inches of snow, sleet and ice in the next 48 hours. Some are calling it the winter storm of the decade; and many people are remembering the ice storm we had back in 2007, which is causing some fear. We, on the other hand, are looking at nature’s coming fury as a test of preparedness. The less things you have to go out and buy beforehand, the more prepared you probably are. The only preparation items we’re getting today are some AA & AAA batteries, for our Fenix flashlights and our Streamlight Stylus Pros’. Though not a necessity since we have candles for light, it sure makes the kids sleep better knowing they have a light source available if they need one.
While the grocery stores will probably be crowded today, we’re taking comfort in knowing that we have a somewhat large supply of canned goods ranging from stew, soups, veggies, and tuna/chicken. We have plenty of water stored up and heat with propane in case the electric goes out. If all else fails, we have an SUV with 4-wheel drive to go places, and a generator to heat with electric if we need to.
So, how prepared are you for this winter storm?
