Officer Accidently Fires Gun at St. Louis School

Firearms News

Apparently a school resource officer’s revolver discharged (fired) when he was cleaning it at Hazelwood East High School (suburban St. Louis district). The “shooter” was a five-year veteran of the force who will not be returning to the school, but remains on duty because no one was hurt. They are looking into why the officer was cleaning his firearm in the school. Maybe they should buy him a Guns 101 book!

Perhaps some basic lessons on how to tell if a revolver is loaded would help in the future. For some this might require a pictorial representation, so here ya go:

If you’re still not sure if the revolver is loaded or not, please do NOT try to clean it. In fact, don’t even pick it up and especially don’t bring it to a school.
