Do-All Outdoors Impact Seal Ground Bouncing Targets

Firearms Training

My first experience with the Do-All Outdoors reactive targets didn’t fair too well last night. My house and wife got hit with ricochets from .22 short round nosed and .22 long hollow points. If you’re buying these targets for a child to shoot and have fun with; I strongly think you should consider whether your kid can hit these 5 inch targets at 50 yards. If not, these are NOT the targets for you! The instructions say to be 50 yards away from them – which we weren’t when the ricochets happened (we were only 20 yards away).

I’m guessing there would be a major velocity change of the bullet between 20 and 50 yards; so I’m guessing that the ricochets wouldn’t have happened if the directions were followed. We shall see! At 20 yards though, with .22 short round nose bullets, the ball didn’t really roll in in the grass and the box tilted back a little and then straightened to the same position it was in…. Not very reactive! I’m assuming that at 50 yards, the bullet will be more slightly deformed and will hit with more of a punch, rolling and making the targets react more… I’ll be testing that sometime in the near future.

I thought about getting some of these to shoot with my .22s but thanks to your review I have decided that they might be just a little too dangerous for my liking.
