All 25 sirens in Joplin were activated 20 minutes before the first reports of a tornado strike. This means that people had a good 15 minutes to brace themselves. This is just a tragedy. Our prayers are with this community.

  2. The latest I’ve heard is that the death toll is up to 125 and it is the 8th deadliest tornado in US history. I’ve been asked by some friends to go with them to help out, but have declined for now. I’m all for giving help to those needed, but this is a case where there is simply too much help going and they can have a habit of getting in the way. The news and radio are even saying to coordinate your efforts with Convoy of Hope or the red cross and the best thing you can do now is to give money.
